12/14/2010- Well the cold is definatly here and with it the trout and salmon are heating up. With recent stockings of retired broodstock salmon across the state, its time to bare the ellements or wait for safe ice and get em. It’s been a while since my last post and not much has happened. The fishing has been good but no big monster trout this fall. Seems like most decent trout have been in the 3-4lb range. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I gave up the salt early this year do to an arm injury and actually took almost a month off the water, but im back now that its feeling better. there are some nice salmon that went in from the Palmer hatchery. These fish range from 6 to 18lbs and average around 11-12lbs from what ive caught.  All 5 cape ponds receieved 12 fish in each and should be getting another dose of smaller 2-8lb fish from the White River Hatchery soon. These fish are smaller but a load of fun. Keeping this short as I will be posting more ofthen now so check back weekly also working on some stuff on the site to better aid with info, so if things are out of place bare with me. Besides the spelling, I still can't do that.....lol ...... Hope you all enjoy the pictures

Sand Tiger Shark
Sand Tiger Shark

9/4/2010-It’s been a great season so far. The striper fishing in my local haunt proved to have a top water bite almost trough out the summer. For me I struggled with fish in the 40’s this year and to date have yet to break 36lbs. I call it a curse.........lol.....But I can’t complain. It was a year for 30lb bass. Beside the striper fishing, my freshwater scene has been non-existent, and the brown shark fishing one of the worst I have seen in along time. Luckly an old spot of mine proved good with some juvennile Sand Tiger Sharks. The fishing for them was great and got to tag quite a few before things slowed down. The best part was catching a sand tiger which had a tag in it. After calling it in, I was told that the shark had been tagged in Point Jude, RI back in June by a biologist. and in 83 days was recaptured by me 68nm miles away. Hopefully the fall run proves be be good with all the small bait and peanuts this year. Be safe out there and Tight Lines!!!!!

St. Lucia
7/11/2010- Finally all the planing  and stress of a destination wedding is over. Me and my lovely bride got married in St. Lucia on May 21st and the fishing was awesome. Things worked out well, we both woke up at 4am every morning as she hit the gym and I walked 20 feet from our hut to fish the surf. I was surprised at how good the fishing was. From all I had herd before my trip. St. Lucia had nothing to offer from its shores, but that was not the case. The snook seemed to be plentiful, tho not that big they averaged 4 to 6lbs with some bigger ones around. Like the monster I lost the morning of my wedding. I had ventured away from the resort along the surf looking for a small inlet that led to a mangrove that a security guard at the resort told me about. Upon arriving I made my first cast with a magic swimmer just to come tight with an easy 40" snook that parted my line in the roots of the mangroves after a 5 minute battle. Would have been my biggest robalo ever. The surf also had lots of jacks and small tarpon and supposedly some monster red snapper that moved into the shallows at night, but bait was hard to come by. During the day I would take out a kayak and chase schools of flying fish looking for something different, but only managed to find a huge cuda that took another magic swimmer. My honeymoon was spent in the FL keys and the Tarpon were on. Hooking 9 from the base of a bridge the fist day just to have them scream, jump and break me off on the pilings was great, but got expensive and after a couple days of that I couldn't take it any more and got a boat. Ended the trip with 6 fish between 80 and 130lbs.  We left Florida just in time to get back for the full moon and the striper fishing has been on, more then off ever since. I also got out with Patrick Sebile of Sebile lures. We had an awesome trip on the water with Capt. Andrew Cummings and caught a ton of bass. Patrick was great and had lots of info on his baits and fishing them and even took a couple hours after fishing to have lunch and hang out swapping tails of fish and places...real cool guy and great company to be on there pro staff. Speaking of cool guys a I got a call a couple weeks ago that went like this "How would you like to go have dinner with your kind Tonight? "Jose Wejebe" of coarse I jumped on that opportunity, and even tho I have to admit it felt a little awkward he made us feel like we were one of his friends just catching up. He has always been one of my favorite guys on tv besides Daulberg and one of the few shows I will watch.  So I was glad I finally got to meet him...next step is fish with him ha haha.................Well back to updating reports so check back soon. Going to I cast in Vegas which is the biggest tackle show there is on Tuesday, so I should have some cool pics of new stuff for the coming season...stay tuned

2/27/2010- Well some how I managed another Mass Angler of the Year Award. This time with 12 species for the year, but what is really exciting is the 4 golds I received along with the trophy, Something that has never been done before. This will probably be my last AOY, looking to give a chance to other anglers and to Young kids out there trying hard to win Mass wildlife's AOY........On another note the fishing continues to be good. The perch fishing this year has been amazing, with loads of jumbo and some magnum size yellows over 2lbs , most of those coming on the jig stick. I had a great day of crappie fishing a week ago, setting up in 13 feet of water just before daybreak. The plan was to just fish the first few hours and then pick up and try somewhere else. The action started good and then slowed up around 7am. A front moved in around 9am and fishing went from slow to phenomenal, which was good since I was visited by a photographer from the Patriot Ledger around the same time. Ended the day with 25 calicos between a pound to a pound fourteen ounce .....You can check out the story at   www.enterprisenews.com    Most of the ice on the south shore is now gone or not safe, with open water and only a couple days till March the trout stocking trucks should be rolling. I broke my camera last week plus with all the upcoming shows this month I wont be posting another report till the end of March sometime...I will be working at the Aquaskinz booth at both the   MSBA Expo   and   RISSA   so stop by and say hello if your around.......Thanks and tight lines

1/26/2010- Haven't fished much since my last report. Had to take care of a few wedding things and the honey do list, but I did manage to get out with a few guys from www.newenglandfishing.net Jiggy (Jon) and Townie (Tom), and fished the weekend with Todd Matera (2005 Angler Of The Year winner) and crew (Todd's uncle Dave, Dean, His girlfriend Michelle, and Dick. Todd had come up earlier in the week, but got a flat and had to pack it up early. This week he was on a mission and actually did well with lots of fish and a few pins and possible world record eel on a tip-up. The fishing was good, with some great jigging action before the rain storm that hit us with the warm temps. The bite was on and it was a big guilty species day for all of us. My trip with the boys from NEF wasn't as great...still had a great time but the bite was the hardest I've seen all winter. We were looking to jig up some jumbo yellows, but they had other plans. Things picked up in the afternoon so we still managed quite a few fish, but no monsters. Well the warm temps have killed most of the ice on the Cape, so it might be time to head back to open water unless I take the drive North or West. Be safe out there and tight lines.

10lb 6oz Brown Trout
10lb 6oz Brown Trout
1/19/2010- well after putting up my first report in a long time, I headed out the door for what seemed like some good conditions for big fish. The target was brown trout thru the ice. I was able to arrive on the pond at first light and after drilling a few holes I was ready to go. the bite was on pretty good with some nice jumbo perch and small trout. Around noon I decide to drill some holes and look for some structure to set up in for late the afternoon/night bite. I was able to put two traps in some good water which came off a point I liked. About two hours later the shallower trap went off and after a good fight a decent 5lb brown came to the hole. things then slowed down till just before dark when the deeper trap went off. at first I was thinking a monster 6+lb smallie since we caught a glimpse of something bronze colored fly by the hole 15 feet down, but after a few minutes the, fish came by side ways and it was apparent that my smallie was now a monster Brown Trout. The fish taped out at 31-1/2" long and a girth of 17" and tipped the scale the next day at 10lbs 6oz...my new personal best Brownie from MA....I am on cloud nine. Not much color on the big female holdover, but im not complaining she is beautiful.

1/15/2010- Aim back! yes this time it's for real. With a new pc and all the time in the world while I look for a job there is no excuses. I have to admit it gets difficult not working especially when you have a mortgage to pay, but I am sure Aim not alone. A lot of guys on the water in the same boat....well enough of the depressing job talk and lets get down to the good stuff. 2009 came and went pretty fast, 09 was a good year for me as I spent a lot of time fishing and learning my home waters of the Cape Cod Canal. which meant less time in the freshwater. Believe it or not I didn't even touch the freshwater from mid May till October. That's along time for me to spend away from the sweetness, but I have no regrets. I was able to manage a few good ones. As the striped bass faded south I turned to fishing for salmon and trout. Stocking trucks were in full force this fall and winter with both trout and salmon and some ponds like Peters, Long, and Little each got a surplus of 100 salmon each in December. This made for some great end of the year action that lead to one day of 19 salmon and a total of 29 between 3 of us. The fish weren't big, but a load of fun. Averaging 2 to 8lbs with some bigger fish mixed in left over from the fall stocking, made fishing the end to 2009 a blast.

Though the ice creeps up quick in 2010 putting an end to the open water action. The action on the ice was even more fast paced. Salmon, trout, bass, pickerel, and massive perch, have kept me pounding the hard water. Though not all waters are safe there is many ponds that have enough ice on them to make for a great outing. I have been targeting some big perch(yellow) over the last couple weeks and have had some amazing days on the water on both tip-ups and jig stick. I was lucky enough to pop a monster thru the hole the other day on a tip-up that weighed 2lb 5oz and taped out almost at 17". Well that's all I have for now. it's 5:15am and I need to get on the water.........stay tuned for some more reports soon......If you plan on heading to the Cape this weekend, please be carefull. With some warm temps over the next few days things can get tragic in a hurry. Tight lines and god bless
