1/1/09-... Happy New Year Every One!!!!  2008 was a hard year for me to do anything but suffer, but on top of all that the fishing proved to be great. It was hard to do anything but fish the canal for stripers from May to October.  The Canal fishing this year was amazing as aim sure many of you herd. I was fortunate enough to live close by and take advantage of it all season. From the unforgettable 5 day blitz in the spring to the big fish in the fall I was there. I always hated the ditch, but this year I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about it....the fall trout season also was a blast with lots of big trout especially Browns working top water baits. As for my quest for the Tiger Musky, well I just couldn't find the time in 08, but aim hoping that the new year will let me get out and close the book on this long quest. I hope you all have had a wonderful year and good luck in the new one. With ice around the corner I hope you all take the precautions and be safe out there.  God Bless

5/11/08- Don’t even know where to begin. A lot happens in 4 months. The fishing has just been amazing and with big stripers showing up and Blue Fish all over the south Cape things only get better. This year I set out to learn some of my local waters and really explore the Cape. Besides focusing my self on Pickerel and Freshwater Bass and trying to make a few runs for the elusive Tiger Musky, I want to get back into the salt seen a little more as well. Living near Cape has given me the chance to fish some exceptional open water thru the winter months. The bass & salmon fishing was great and as the weather began to warm and stocking trucks started to head out. The fishing for both trout and smallmouth proved to be exceptional. As this year progresses, it proves to be an amazing year for bass fishing, especially the smallmouth. Having caught quite a few fish over 5lbs already this year and two 4+lb fish on one lure has made my quest nothing but spectacular. The trout fishing has also been great and the amount of trout stocked by the state just amazes me. Even though many are of average size and above, this years stocking proves to have some decent trophy fish as well. With many brook trout over 2lbs already this year for my self and a new State record Brook trout being caught out west, this is the year to get out and break that PB brookie. A good place to do that would be Little Pond in Plymouth. I have had some good days on the water there and many of those days have yelled some nice brook trout to 3lb 14oz. Now I have caught them in other Ponds as well this year, so any Trout stocked pond could prove to be the one as well. The state does an amazing job and so does the Sandwich Hatchery. It’s my new favorite place. I love making trips to the Hatchery and feeding the trout while taking pictures. The crew there does an exceptional job at raising some quality fish for all of us and deserve lots of credit for there work.  Well I hope everyone some tight lines and be safe out there and as soon as I get my computer fixed I will date the site more regularly. Don’t forget to check out my videos on You Tube as well as in the video Page. Many new features on the site also......Embedded Videos, Slide show options to view pictures and many more up-dates to come.......It's been a long time I know, but offthehookfishing is back !!!!
